Jardin du Luxembourg

No trip to Paris is complete without a visit to one of the most beautiful and serene parks known the world over: Luxembourg Gardens.

Luxembourg is the largest park in all of Paris and the palace of the same name is home to the French Senate. There are over 100 statues within the park, hundreds of apple and pear trees, some of the most beautiful landscaping I've ever seen and, last but certainly not least, plenty of awe inducing fountains. We knew we had to visit this place and we were NOT disappointed.

As we entered the gardens we knew that this place would be a sight to behold. The labyrinth of well manicured trees welcomed us and all of our travel stress and fatigue instantly melted away. I am sure that we could have meandered through the park for an entire day with time slipping by without notice. It is truly a place of serenity and beauty. A place to grab a baguette and some wine and live the Parisian "good life!"

We left the park around 9:15 pm to catch the metro to, where else, but the Eiffel Tower as we did every night to watch it sparkle at 10 pm on the dot.

  2. Voila! Kids are HOME! But of course NOT on time. They were to arrive at 11 pm. The airport monitor kept changing their arrival time. Mickey texted me from Atlanta and said they were ready to take off, and the capt came on and said they had to go back for a visual inspection. The kids arrived in Louisville at 12:10 am. A bittersweet ending...to finally get home after a wonderful 3 wks in Europe and to be told her mom had a stroke on Monday. All is fine and will be fine. Thank you Lord for a safe and wonderful trip.
