Type A Personality Strikes Again
After my somewhat panicked post tonight a quick trip to Wal-Mart was in order to satisfy my crazy need to be prepared. So, after a quick check of the most recent TSA regs we headed out.
So, it's not everything but it will help me sleep a little more soundly tonight!
Below is the result:

The Excitement is mounting....but so is the Tension!
Although our excitement is mounting as we get closer and closer to the day of departure we are also faced with a bit of uncertainty as we consider what to expect with our trip.
I mean...we're backpacking through two countries in Europe...something we've dreamed of for a long time but never really knew what it would be like. Of course, exploring new places is a passion of ours so a trip like this is something that calls us to action. Yet, at the same time we can't help but be a little apprehensive when trying to decide what to do, what to see, what to eat, what to wear, etc, etc, etc!
We've spent copious amounts of time searching the web in hopes of educating ourselves about each location of our journey. We've scoured countless blogs, sites and other places to prepare ourselves for this trip of a lifetime but, still, we find that all this information can be a bit overwhelming.
I felt a sense of comfort the other day when a friend from work, who has visited Europe many times, was giving me first hand advice about places to see, eat and experience. Something about hearing this first hand and being able to ask as many questions as I could squeeze into five minutes was very comforting. Of course, this friend also said that he would type everything into an email and send it to me only to leave for vacation the next day. Boo!
I don't know, I guess the Type A personality in me wishes that we could plan all the small details and know everything to expect ahead of time. Alas, my Type A will have to cede to Mickey's ever laid back Type B personality and chill! And wouldn't that take all the fun out of it anyway?
So, until next time, friends, I will return to the never ceasing task of planning and preparing. I don't think I've planned and prepared this much since our wedding nearly 7 years ago. Whew! Isn't this supposed to be a vacation!? ;)
