FLORENCE Y'ALL

Well, we're in Florence. But we can't find the mall!?!?

Just joking, just joking. Anyway, we arrived in Florence and, again, it is another wonderfully beautiful Italian city. It's home to so many things such as the Ponte Vecchio which is the only bridge in the city that was not destroyed by WWII bombs. The bombers decided to strategically miss it because of its long standing history and importance to the city. Looking out over it is absolutely amazing.

Of course Florence is for art lovers because so many of the most famed Renaissance artists originated here. The city holds Michelangelo's most famous sculpture, The David.

And, finally, Florence is one of the Fashion Capitals of the world. Some of the most famous design houses began in Florence such as Gucci, Prada and Valentino. We, unfortunately, did not take many pictures in the fashion district because there are men in CIA looking uniforms everywhere and we didn't want to seem like we were stalking the goods! However, here are some more pictures of us out and about in Florence.

Yesterday we meandered through the city just sightseeing and enjoying ourselves. We went to one of the museums here and got to see an exhibit featuring Galileo who is another famous Florentine. It was very interesting.

Today we are venturing to Piazza del Michelangelo, a scenic park overlookiong all of Florence. Then, it's off to Cinque Terre tomorrow at 8 am. We are SO excited because everyone is telling us that it will be one of the BEST cities of our trip.
